Senior Accountant Opportunity

CT Power, a prominent player in providing transport refrigeration solutions throughout the United States, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to play a pivotal role in our accounting department. Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly reconciliations of key general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy of balances
• Create and monitor standard journal entries and assist in month-end and year-end close procedures
• Maintain accurate fixed asset records, including depreciation calculations, acquisitions, and disposals
• Review financial expenditures to ensure treatment is appropriate and in accordance with GAAP
• Manage the monthly reconciliation of cash accounts
• Assist in filing and reviewing Sales & Use tax via Avalara
• Oversee the company credit card program
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Respond to financial inquiries from operations management by gathering, analyzing and interpreting financial and operational data
• Develop opportunities for process improvement to streamline close and month-end reporting
• Support annual financial audit activities and inquiries
• Provide timely and accurate financial information to management
• Perform ad hoc analysis or other responsibilities as assigned by manager

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

• Bachelors' degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
• Minimum 3 - 7 years of relevant experience required in accounting or finance with demonstrated career progression
• Ability to collaborate with various partners and stakeholders
• Ability to multi-task and succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Strong analytical and financial skills with a track record of execution against deliverables
• Strong attention to detail and a structured mindset with process/continuous improvement and innovative thinking
• Strong interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills
• Self-starter with strong initiative, ability to take ownership and work independently as well as contribute to the broader team
• Ability to maintain and handle confidential documents

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

• Experience with automated financial systems and worksheet modeling tools (Excel)
• Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficient knowledge of one or more accounting software programs (Karmak a plus)
• Prior experience with Sage Asset Management
