Service Estimator provides technical parts and service support in the diagnosing and estimating process. Prepares accurate and timely estimates to repair customers' equipment by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Works closely with the Diagnostic Technician and Service Supervisor to understand the repair and maintenance procedures needed to repair customers' vehicles.
- Develops repair estimate with labor operations required to complete repair, reviewing warranty for any deductibles due.
- Develops complete parts lists for repairs being performed using extensive product knowledge, various computer software programs and supplier catalogs, estimating requisition completion time with a high degree of accuracy.
- Identifies sources for non-stock parts, using relationships developed with local suppliers, and determines price and availability of parts to be included on customer estimates.
- Makes extensive notes in estimating software for both parts procurement and diagnostic findings to facilitate the sales process.
- Recovers freight costs by following the current freight policy and including anticipate freight costs in customer estimates.
- Estimates date of delivery to shop, based on knowledge of own firm's inventory and stock delivery schedules communicating with shop to ensure efficient use of technicians' time. .
- Matches customer needs with W. W. Williams product and service offerings and recommends solutions, allowing Service Department to maximize customer satisfaction and sales opportunities.
- Builds and maintains relationships with technicians and shop personnel.
- Assists in setting appropriate stocking levels by reporting stocking problems or opportunities.
- Successfully completes all ongoing supplier-provided parts training and maintains all supplier and company required certifications.
