Job Description


W.W. Williams is seeking an Application Engineer Diesel Engines for Brunswick, OH. This position is responsible for conducting engineering evaluations, reviewing and making recommendations to ensure proper engine performance and aid in the design and development of equipment/systems to fulfill the needs of customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Create engine specs and perform installation reviews for OEM and Distributor customer base.
  • Perform tasks in a timely manner with attention to lead times and customers' schedules.
  • Ensure that W.W. Williams standards for engine installation are adhered to for each application.
  • Perform data acquisition tasks on new engine installations.
  • Perform calculations and engineering analysis of test data.
  • Negotiate and manage engineering improvements in sub-standard systems proposed by OEM and Distributor-based customers.
  • Maintain database on each active application, and manage the Installation Review work flow.
  • Respond to engineering-related questions for Sales Department's new and existing applications.
  • Assist sales in the proper selection of engines and options for new applications.
  • Support service functions through engineering analysis of pattern failures, dyno testing of specific engines, etc.
  • Respond to incoming questions via phone and email.
  • Understand the processes within various departments such as Parts, Service, Warranty, etc. Assist with problems as they arise with our distributors, OEMs, and dealers.
  • Exhibit high competence in W.W. Williams product line knowledge.
  • Exhibit an engineering curiosity about various customers' applications and specific engineering challenges.
  • Understand fully all W.W. Williams engineering guidelines and practices.
  • Expand understanding of W.W. Williams engineering practices through specific training sessions, ad hoc discussions with managers and senior engineers and through self-study.
  • Participate in trade shows relevant to customer base.
  • Participate in Service Department training sessions as new systems are introduced.
Job Requirements:
  • BS in engineering or technology, BSME preferred.
  • 5 years or more of engineering experience, engine application preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
